Feeding Issues with Glock 36??

I have now had two separate people including a local Glock Dealer tell me that Glock 36's have magazine problems. Now, I am not a huge Glock fan but I understand that they are totally reliable weapons. I had a 19 and a 21 years ago and they digested everything.

Has anyone else heard this or better yet, can anyone speak from experience with this piece?

I don't have any first hand experience but everyone over at glocktalk.com says that the early run 36's were very sketchy. However, the newer ones are supposed to be just as good as any other Glock out there.

Haven't heard of any problems with the 36, and our rental is still going strong with no problems whatsoever.

I see occasional issues with our rental 36 and a customer who purchased a 36. These are 99.9% due to the trigger actuator. Unfortunately due to combination of such minimal size & weight with .45ACP and the Glock grip pattern the 36 is more sensitive to limp-wristing than the other models. It can be overcome.

That is hard to believe.IMO, one should have at least 4 mags and rotate them out the 1st of every month. I have 8 and I do that every month. I have had my G36 since they first came out and have had no problems with FTF or FTE. I practice with hardball and carry 230gr. Hydra-shok. Never a problem.

I collect a mixed box of factory hollowpoint by rotating out the 45 ammo from the several "house guns" I keep handy. It varies in condition, sometimes has a small dent in the brass from ejecting, brass sometimes discolored from handling, somtimes it's just fine. I just like rotating that ammo every so often, call it piece of mind.

I take that mixed bag of 45 ammo to the range and shoot it... I've loaded my G36 with this mixed 45 ammo several times and to date have not had any failures. Like my G21SF, the G36 eats it all. It's probably an "early one", as I got it maybe 6 months after they became available.

With such short mags, as another poster mentions, it's likely important to rotate your mags often... I do it at the same time as I rotate the ammo, every couple of months.

I have a G36 and have easily shot 8,000 rounds through it. I've only ever had two malfunctions and they weren't due to the magazines.

I did have problems with a G17 magazine once, but figured out that it was because I bent the front of the magazine while dropping it during a reload.

I love the G36 design and the feel in my hand. I wish there was a full sized single stack .45 ACP Glock, I would snap it up in a second.

No trouble out of my Glock 36 but I've only put a few hundred rounds through. Gun is easier to handle than my Para P13.

Also another thing to look at is the ammo you are using. Try a different brand of ammo to be sure. Sometimes some guns don't like certaing brands of ammo. I had this issue initially with my Sig p220 and the Winchester white box after I bought it new. I ran a little over 1000 rounds of the Federal AE with no issues and reverted back to the WWB and now all is good in the cosmos. Just something for you to consider.

I had an early G36, and had a lot of problems with it. I never did figure out whether it was magazine related or gun related, but the problems went away when I sent it to Robar. They just kept replacing parts until the problem went away.

I ended up switching to a G29, though, as I never could come to trust the G36 again.

I also have an early Glock 36 (still have it today), the only problem that I ever experienced with it was that the mag well was a couple thousandths too big and the original magazines would end up pinching my little pinky. A little experimentation with my grip ended this problem. It ate everything that I ever put through it. Now with the Pearce extenders I have no pinching problems at all.
