    SSE HKVP9 or Sphinx SDP

I need help to decide which way to go. I've held a VP9 and it fits great it my hand. The trigger is very good. I've never held a Sphinx and I've got pretty big hands. I don't think I'll get a chance to handled one before purchase. I know this might be rolling the dice. However, I purchased my PPQ without ever handling one and it fits great. I realize also the Sphinx is more expensive.

    Should I get a Sphinx or VP9?

Hands down, no comparison. Sphinx. I've shot the sphinx a few times (pick mine up next month) but I've only had the opportunity to hold the VP9. Ergos are good on both guns however nothing is going to beat that sphinx trigger and quality.

        i prefer a smithed CZ

i will through out another one for you:
how about a new CZ that had been gunsmithed at CGW?
        CZ P-07 or P-09 $700
        CZ p-01 $900
that's the route i went and IMO they are nicer that either gun you mentioned.
just my $.02, but i usually send out or do myself trigger jobs on my firearms.

I have a worked over P01 and SP01 for that matter. The Sphinx was very similar, but it was enough for me to still run out and buy one. The Sphinx was smoother for me to shoot than the P01.

I've got a P-09 and will eventually do the CGW trigger package. Thanks for all the feed back guys. I'm leaning towards the Sphinx, just because the VP9 is a lot like my PPQ.

Sphinx SDP looks interesting, but it costs nearly twice as much as the HK VP9.

That's not true, vp9 will be about $800 otd after sse, Sphinx is $1k otd.

I currently ccw the PPQ, just dros'd the Sphinx on Thurs and have pre-ordered/prepaid for the vp9. The vp9 ergos are supposedly similar to the p30, which is great. Sphinx is more of a niche gun, but you're basically paying for a custom trigger in the gun. So take it fwiw.

You guys should watch Hickok45's YouTube vid for the Sphinx, great gun, but may not be for everyone.

They're completely different pistols in terms of ergo and firing system. The CZ style works really well for my hand (I have an IMI baby eagle), and the HK P30 was the only gun I have ever sold in my life because it didn't feel good when actually putting rounds through it. The HK VP9 seems to have the same grip as the HK P30 - someone pls correct me if I'm wrong. And for me, the HK P30 felt perfect until I actually shot it. Others have no problem at all and love it. Totally depends on the person. With SSE going away, I hate to say it, but it's probably better to just buy as much as possible and sort it out later.

Where can you get the Sphinx SDP Compact where it would end up being $1K out the door?

OC Armory got 2 batches (8 guns) in, but sold out.

                            I went in a completely different direction. I purchased a Gen4 Glock 23 and later in the year i'll purchase a Gen4 Glock 19.

Good choice. Both much better than Sphinx or VP9.
