    Glock 19 Gen 4 owners

Quick question: When you purchased your handgun, did it come with 15 round magazines or 10 round magazines?

why would it come with 15 round magazines? Isnt that ilegal?

To my knowledge they would come with 3 10 rd magazines or None at all. Some folks were getting 2 10 rd magazines and then 1 voucher for the remaining one.

Unless the purchaser was law enforcement (or otherwise able to buy a high capacity magazine), it would come with 10 rounds in California.

There might be some shops willing to disassemble 15 round magazines prior to the "parts kit law" going into effect, but I doubt you'll see that these days.

Why do you ask, AlphaGlock? Were you able to purchase them, or perhaps know of an FFL selling them?

Technically they come with 15's. But being the beautiful "safe" state we are. Your LGS/Distributer replaces them with 10 capped mags due to state and local laws before you can take possession of the firearm.

        LEO exemption of course.

Depends on where you get it and they're distributor. I was actually given the option, 3 10rounders or pay $9 ($3 for each mag) for the 15 rounders to get blocked to 10.

What do you mean "blocked to 10"?

They actually disassemble the 15 rounders and give them to you that way, is that what you mean?

I was curious b/c I was in the shop and I overheard someone picking up their Glock 19 Gen 4 (SSE I assume), and he got into an argument with receiving 10 round mags.

They disassemble the 15 rounder and put a base plate in that blocks 5 rounds and then they seal it up.
They should have KNOWN that they would receive 10 rd mags. Plenty of FFL's do not restrict the glock mags because there is current available 10rd factory mags from glock.

                    Not anymore.

Some argue that a "conversion kit" as described by the bill does not refer to "parts kits" but I don't think anyone wants to be the test case necessary to challenge that law.

Since most FFL's are not going to goto the expense and trouble of blocking the mags, AND since they can't give them to the buyer do to the "rebuild kit" law in effect, the FFL HAS to give them 10rd mags.

They disassemble them and put a block in so they only accept 10 rounds. They're sealed with a pop rivet after. He gave me the original base plates inserts as well so if I move out of state, I just drill out the rivet and install the original base plate inserts.

Actually, for Gen4 Glock 19s there are two sku's available, one with 3 15 rounders and one with 3 10 round magazines. I have purchased sse'd both configurations, when it was still an option for receiving rebuilds. I have gotten emails of restocks on the 10 rnd version from Buds, Hinterland, etc. so they are out there. Same is true for G17.

I received three 15rd rebuild kits.
