Hammer spring broke!!

Help! I was using my 1905 3rd change the other day and the hammer spring finally gave way and snapped. I was told up and down that the wilson combat reduced power spring set for N/K/L frames would work. Well it doesn't...spring is too short and much different looking. Can't even get the hammer cocked fully back with it in. Where do I get the right spring??! What model do I actually search for?? I'm including a picture of the broken spring and the wilson combat one for reference. Top spring is original bottom is wilson

Are you saying that with the spring installed and the sideplate replaced, that the hammer cannot be cocked into SA?

Does it work in DA?

That is the correct spring. Wilson changed the design to improve the feel of the action. It should work in DA

It doesnt work at all. It can't be cocked in SA and DA the hammer will not go back far enough to go past the release. I can see where the mechanism hits the spring and will not let the action move properly.

just go to Numrich and get a standard S&W spring.

Numrich has so many models for the .38 im not 100% sure which one to search for

rusty old spring...dunno if that would even be worth the money...but that's an option i suppose!
