M&P Shield mags not dropping free

I have an M&P Shield in 9mm, and noticed the magazines dont drop free like my M&P9 full size. These are all factory S&W mags. It does it mostly when they are empty but once in a while if they are full and the mag well is not pointing down towards the ground. happens with both the 7 and 8 rounders

Anyone else having this problem and got any ideas on how to fix it?

Lock the slide back and press on mag release button. Now slide the mag in and out. Do you fell it drag?

Do you see any "scuff" marks on the mag bodies?

Is your palm holding them in while you're ejecting? Try hitting the mag release without holding the grip. If not check the mag well for defects or extra polymer sticking out. I think its called flashing but mine was like that in the plug area and I had to sand it off. I imagine that could happen on the other side too which is the mag well.

Mine drop free just fine. Is you mag well obstructed or dirty?

it seems like my palm is catching them, if I consciously hold my palm away they drop free , but this is something I have to focus on and also have to alter my grip

Lol pretty much what I experienced too.

I had to alter my grip anyway just to shoot it straight. Never owned a subcompact/pocket pistol before so it took some getting used to. Its a bit of -relearning, but you'll get it. train train train!

The grip is small enough that I can see that happening and I have to adjust my grip when swapping mags too. Definitely different coming from the FS to this one, but I did not have any issues with it at the range.

My 7rd one doesn't like to seat properly 100% of the time, but both of my 8rd ones have no problem. My 7rd actually launches out of the bottom unlike the two 8 rounders that just drop normal.

Mine don't drop free either. Also, they don't slide in smooth.
Is it just CA ones with the mag safety thing?

                      Bump from the dead

Was coming to buy another Shield today n noticed the mags dont drop free. It’s not my grip. Won’t drop with the mags it comes with. Mine is a HM n this one was a HZ. Did they change something? Both are CA Shields.
