SA 1911 Mil Spec

I am not going to go out a buy a $1000 1911. I am looking for a budget 1911

I got a milspec and its been good dor me. Good base pistol to start with in case you want to customize it later.

My first 1911A1 was a Springfield Mil Spec I bought (cash and carry, btw) at a gun show in NC back in 1991. Other than polishing the feed ramp to reliably digest hollowpoint ammo it's still in original configuration and it's as solid a performer as it can be.

Because I think a 1911 is one of the guns everyone should own.

Very nice gun. Make sure you give her a good clean up out of the box. Mine got lot of grease at the firing pin area

I just scored a springfield TRP which is a way nice one for a layaway at $1273.00 which is a steal. I think springfield is a great company to go with, lifetime warranty if you have any issues. I say get it, or get a loaded model maybe.

i have a SA milspec, kimber custom II, sig tacops, and rock island railed tactical. the SA has the worst fit & finish and accuracy of the group. tied with the rock island for the worst factory stock trigger as well.

if you are going to customize the pistol as time goes on, then the SA weill be the best platform. but you say you dont like 1911's, meaning you probably dont want to spend too much money customizing one. if you just wanna get a good out-of-the-box 1911 at a good price, please take a look at rock island, and kimber or sig sauer when they go on sale.
