1911 CZ DW PM 7

So for the first time I bought a gun on impulse. Well, technically my wife asked me to buy a gun on impulse. We went out looking for shot guns and she wants a pump, but they didn't have any that felt right to her. So while I was there, I asked to see a CZ 75B. I was very disappointed as it just didn't fit my hand very well. My 75 PCR is awesome.

So while browsing the pistols my wife asks to see a 1911 DW pointman 7. I know that at some point I would add a 1911, but wasn't considering it at this time. But as soon as I looked at that thing I was like...schwiiiing.

My wife was like that is so beautiful...

I told her we could put it on layaway, but she couldn't Dros as she doesn't have a HSC and this will be her gun in her name.

So we did....I told her that if she wasn't already my wife I would marry her.

Because it was a CZ and a DW I was comfortable with putting it on layaway. But I hadn't done any research prior to purchase. Everything I've read so far sound great.

Anyone here have one? How do you like it?

Love it, I had 2 of them, sold the second to fund my Dan Wesson Valor, I also have a Dan Wesson CCO. tThe Valor was my unicorn.

I own a 2005 Patriot bobtail commander. (pre-cbob) IT IS AWESOME! I will never sell it. I talked my buddy into a PM7 as his first 1911. Same thing. Awesome. We each only paid in the mid $800 range at the time too. While current prices are nearly doubly. you still couldn't have made a better choice.

SSE a RZ45 Heritage if you can. Same size as the PM7 but with fixed sights and no FCS. That's what I want to put with my cbob.

You'll be fine, DW makes great 1911s. I used to dislike 1911s, but a Dan Wesson (as it happens, a PM7) made me a convert. 2 Dan Wessons later (RZ-45 and CBOB), I just like them more. They're accurate and very reliable, great ergonomics, too.

Can't go wrong with a PM7. They are as functional as they are beautiful.

Love my PM7 it was my first DW and now have three.The CBOB feels very comfortable in my hand you might want to check one out.Now I just need to try some different grips.

You'll be pleased. I too got into DW's from the CZ angle. I recently got the Commander Classic Bobtail and very much happy with it. I'm wanting to get a full size DW 1911, either a Valor or PM-7. I'm leaning towards the Valor since SSE got shot down and the PM-7 will more than likely remain on the roster.

I have the PM-7 and really like it. It is a superb 1911. It is as accurate as any 1911 you are going to find. You and your wife will really enjoy the gun.
