    Threaded Barrel.

I just purchased an ak pistol. It of course has a bullet button. As I'm doing the paperwork the fellow says that before it can be converted from sse to semi they have to pin or weld the flash suppressor.

I thought that once you had a bullet button you could have the threaded barrel. Am I wrong? Is there a code or a link that I can show him?

    I believe that a handgun + threaded barrel = no-go in CA...

^ ordinarly yes, unless a magazine lock is installed, however Im generally unfamiliar with AR/AK pistols, if there's some special exclusion to that general rule for them.

Im sure forum member "Quiet" will be along shortly, that guy's a wizard with CA PC..

Correct. Your FFL is an idiot(unfortunately not uncommon). Refer to the handgun ban ID flowchart at the top of the page.

its covered in the handgun flowchart, http://www.calguns.net/caawid/hgflowchart.pdf

it lists the old PC numbers but the reasoning is still valid.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

If the magazine is outside the grip does not matter if threaded pinned/welded/
            put on with crazy glue.

Thanks guys. I'm not a good speaker or instructor. So hopefully I can show him the paper correctly and explain it.

Well I called and they will give it to me the way I want the firearms ( unaltered ). But they advise that I permanently attached the muzzle device. That the reason it can have a flash hider is because it's a SSE. They said the moment I put a magazine that holds more than 1 round it's a felony for creating an assault weapon even though it holds a bullet button.

                It's gonna be a long 10 days
