on the upside, my Staff Sergeant said he was gonna put up the money for the fees when i re dros since he basically guaranteed that i was leaving on the 15th. On the day i bought my gun i even asked him that morning if i was leaving on the 15th and he said yes

Ask your SSgt if you can drive your car there.. It's only like an 8 hours drive.. And drive back to go pick it up..

With the cost of gas it's cheaper to leave it and redros!
Lord, make my hand fast and accurate.
Let my aim be true and my hand faster
than those who would seek to destroy me.
Grant me victory over my foes and those who wish to do harm to me and mine.
Let not my last thought be 'If I only had my gun."
And Lord, if today is truly the day you call me home, let me die in an empty pile of brass.

You will have some time after your pick up date before they start to charge you for storage or restocking. I'm with stphnman20, drive down at your first opportunity and pick it up. Then go directly back to barracks. My buddy and I once drove from Orange County to Las Vegas twice in one day because we needed some paper work. You can function on less than 8 hours sleep a night for one or two days.

Don't you think the dealer could wave the storage fee? I know there isn't much Dave can do about the DROS. Are the shops down there that heartless?

Couldn't you have them mail it to a local FFL in Yuma after your 10 days?

next time, DROS your pistol through us. We wouldn't charge you a fee for being deployed in service to your country. That's just wrong.
