    Chiappa Rhino finally :-)

It's been a long time coming and trying to find a place that would single action exemption this. The 5" black Chiappa. I've only shot the 4" before, but liked it very much. Thanks to Dustin at Shooter's Warehouse on Micron Ave in Sac. Curses that I have to go to work this Sunday so I can't get to the range >.>

But at least when I hold this...

    I feel like this.... :-)

Never shot one but it seems so obvious to have a low bore axis. Congrats.

(My spell checker turned Congrats into Congress. I kid you not).

yeah I also like the 5 inch barrel look as well.
it is so rugged and strong looking anything under 4 inches & it doesn't look right. like an Abrams tank with a two foot barrel.

it's got a lot going for it, high back strap with the beavertail grip, low bore axis but best of all it's the closest thing to Harrison Ford's Blade Runner revolver currently being made and able to shoot actual bullets.

        a thoroughly modern & fully
re- designed revolver, quite a concept.

(would I buy one? probably not, I bet they're still expensive and I am partial to Smith and Wesson myself.)

Congrats ( that you're not in Congress.)

I have one of these (original prop, not a knock off) and I don't see that much of a resemblance, but maybe that's just me? ;-)

I would totally buy one but man oh man are they expensive. I have only seen prices for 1000 or more, nothing under that. That's way to much for my blood lol.

They are expensive to begin with, and then you add the CA mark-up. Only rich people can own guns in CA I guess? /sarcasm

Glad I got mine while out of state.

Anyone in CA considering getting one, I think will be very disappointed by the level of finish due to high cost. I'm commenting specifically to the black/blued version. No hands-on experience with the stainless White Rhino version. For a revolver that costs as much as it does, the blued steel cylinder can tarnish/rust easily. You really have to keep an eye on it and stay ahead of it with prevention and care.

It's a very nice piece and a keeper for me. But, at their high cost (plus mark-up), best you know what you're getting yourself into.

I saw your post on the other thread and checked online for rust issues but didn't find much on the subject. It doesn't seem the finish on the cylinder is different but maybe I just didn't look close enough. Is it possible the newer models have a different finish? I will keep the gun oiled regardless. I'm just glad I was able to get one. There was no mark up on this it was $960 which I think is around Msrp and no extra charge for sae. Probably in other states you can find it under Msrp though I'm sure.

You're not going to find much info online of the Rhino. It's nowhere near as popular as a 1911, and it's a polarizing oddball. It is a modern interpretation of the Manteba 6 Unica; try and find 1 person out of 10 who knows what that is.

I don't think the newer production examples have changed. It's not a huge deal and easily addressed/prevented. It's just something that you would expect to not see considering how much it costs.

^^^nice way of showing off Capybara.
that is a beautiful pistol even if it doesn't actually fire anything.( I'm not jealous but if I could borrow that for a while that be great.) ;-)

                        Although I didn't say resemble,
I said the closest thing to it that actually fires.
(& that isn't some kind of custom handmade & expensive fan made job.)

I was more commenting on the very futuristic design and appearance of the Rhino.

one last question ,if you care to answer Cappyarra, how much did you pay for that?
if its a prop, it must have set you back some $$$ because it looks like a very nice prop.
