Dan Wesson Valor my way

I just back my Dan Wesson Valor slide back from Norwich, NY where Glen mirror polished the flats then sent it out for a re-duty treat. I had Dawson precision ship a red fiber optic front sight for Glen to replace the tritium. I also ordered an oversized thicker barrel bushing where Glen had hard fitted to the barrel and flat long nose recoil plug he had the DW logo deeply laser engraved then duty treated while also doing a reverse 11 degree crown flush to the bushing. While that was being done I purchased a Ultra Match Chamfered 3.5 lb. Trigger Pull (5 piece) Set matched hammer and sear from Cylinder and Slide while having them blue the hammer. I also ordered a set of Honduran rosewood burl grips from the Sarge. I also purchased a straight trigger from 10-8 and sanded down the front pad to remove the serrations and added a bevel to both front edges to soften the sharp edge. As you can see I also mirror polished the aluminum surface which I may send out to get blackened in Ion bond. I'm debating whether to send the barrel out to get fully jeweled.

Basically a finish accident nightmare. It started out with me re-holstering it and missing the holster scratching the finish with a stupid $2 key holder on my belt. Then it snowballed by me trying to use a scouring pad to bring back the finish which removed the areas of the finish. That's when I decided to brush the flats. The duty treat impregnates the steel deeply so as you can see it still showed remnants of the duty treat now matter how much I sanded. So I decided to send it back to DW and re-duty treat the slide.

Oh well you live and learn. I couldn't leave it the way it was since I paid the premium for the duty treat and would've reminded me every time I looked at it.

Looking good brother! The DW logo on the spring plug is like icing on the cake!

This is just me, but a black trigger would look much better than that silver one, just saying.

Also, if you ever decide to part with those grips, give me a holler...those are sa-weeeeet!!!
