    Les Baer bluing break in

I had some how managed to break the thumb safety off of my Premier II on May 26th, so I sent the pistol to Les Baer to have a new thumb safety fitted. The gun was covered under warranty, and I got it back today.

The new safety makes me remember how deep the bluing really is when they're new. Time to load up some rounds and break in the bluing.

I've dry fired and gripped my Baer so much that the bluing is already wearing on my thumb safety as well as underneath the trigger guard and near the top of the front strap. At least people will know that I actually shoot my pistol instead of just look at it.

With use, Baer's develop awesome patina. Unlike others pistols, they wear-in extremely nicely.

That actually looks great OP! Baers tend to "age" well, which is one of the things I like about them.

        Enjoy breaking the bluing in!

Congrats OP. As other's have stated, I've never seen the patina of a blued gun better than that of a Baer.

Sadly, I will never know as I got mine hard chromed

I totally agree with the worn look of a 1911. There's nothing like it!!!

My 2 month old Premier II had a bit of wear from a 4 day class at Front Sight and a lot of holster work. My sweat is pretty acidic, so the front strap and the mainspring housing checkering was actually rusted by the time I got home!

Skosh-You should be ashamed of yourself getting a hard chromed sissy pistol!!! LOL!! Just kidding my Baer Brother!!! (At least you didn't get yourself a Glock!!!).

OP-Don't worry, your thumb safety will soon catch up to the rest of your gun very soon. If not, you can always drag your gun behind your car for a few blocks!

                Happy shooting and be safe!

How did you break the thumb safety? Sometimes I'll ride the safety hard on my Custom Carry when shooting. There's some movement or play in the safety. If it breaks it's a good excuse to send it to Alchemy Custom for additional work.

BM's Baers always have that classic look to them.

What I wanna know is, how did the P210 shoot?
