shood owner Sprinfeerd loaded 1911. Very better to Kimber. Butt, Kimber Raptor double good too. Up to u, personal choice, all are good.

(on a more serious note, the Tactical II is lighter weight (I wouldn't bother with it unless you are carrying it), the Eclipse is really pretty, but I would either go with the Warrior, Raptor or a Springfield Loaded model, which will save you alot of money).

I have a TLE II, it was my first "real" 1911 clone. I liked the Parkerized finish a lot at first, but fell in love with their epoxy finish on the Gold Combat II... until I carried it and fired it for a while. Yeah, Parkerized is the way to go in terms of a finish that takes wear well.

I fondled a Raptor at Turners Pasadena couple of months ago. Sure looked good. Don't really know how it shoots though. They were asking $1200+.

In general, I prefer the Custom II or maybe even the TLE for the money. As you go up in price Kimber offers prettier finishes and fancier looking cosmetics (liked scalloped front straps). But they do not offer more in terms of better quality parts and fitting which is more important than a prettier gun IMHO.

In the $1000 and up range I'd prefer to get a SA TRP or a customized SA Loaded/MilSpec without the Swartz firing pin safety (common to all Kimbers entering CA) for about the same or a little more than the pricier Kimbers.

No, it kinda painful to see the english language being butchered like that. Communication is important. Its not that different than when someone types their post in ALL CAPS.

Unless english is his/her second language....In that case we should cut zippo some slack.

                    ianS,

You are doing some major butchering of the language yourself

As long as we could understand what the person's trying to say. It's just fine.

I do enjoy Ohsmily's corrections on most of our posts here though. It breaks up the tension well in some situations.

Heck, I even like Kimber's CC pistol, and have a TLE myself - it's pretty good too.

Actually, it's "You're not she, right?"
"It's really their killing potential," Alison Merrilees, legal counsel for the Firearms Division of the attorney general's office, said in explaining why assault weapons were banned. "The pistol grip allows them to be sprayed randomly. You can kill lots of people without having to reload."

I own 2 Kimbers.. One one Custom Classic and a newer Eclipse Target II.. I love them both and have had no problems with eather. The Classic has over 30,000+ rounds down the OG pipe with no problems and no real loss in accuracy. It could use a refinish job, but it is loose and fast.
The Eclipse is heavy (Stainless) and very accurate. 10,000+ rounds with no problems. It is a bit tight in the slide and will start to slown down arter 1,000 or so rounds without a wipedown.

I have no problems with Kimber and will buy another.
                            1911.....

Just get a base Springfield 1911 and take it to a gunsmith and have anything you want (or don't want) done to your liking for cheaper than any of the brand name's "preminum" 1911s. If you're in So. Cal... goto King's in Glendale... they do excellent work on 1911 and can give you a complete decked out 1911 better than the preminum branded guns for less.

                              Just my 2cent.
