Quick question for the AK pistol builders....

Will the Nodakspud NDS-3 'economy' receiver work well for general pistol builds?

Does using that receiver require a specific parts kit?

    Thanks as always!

    NDS

NDS receivers are RIFLE receivers. You only can build a pistol from a flat or a blank in CA.

If they are going to be built into single shot pistols out of state, the receivers will be logged as pistols with the FFL....

It mainly depends on what trunnion you plan on using in the rear. NDS3 (NDS6 as pistol) will have trunnion holes in the back for a standard romy trunnion, which will work if you cut off the tang. For some reason our local legal eagles are saying that a standard trunnion that accepts a stock is a no-go on an AK, but an AR receiver that will accept a stock is fine.

So depending on what rear trunnion you plan on using, you may want to go with the NDS1 (no trunnion holes drilled).
