Quick question about the 30 day rule.

I bought a new handgun on 5-8-06 and picked up on 5-19-06. Does the 1 handgun per 30 day start from the day of DROS or after the 10 day wait? I'm looking to buy from a private party from out of state.

    Thanks in advance.

It's thirty 24-hour periods from your last DROS. The DROS form has the date, hour, minutes, and probably seconds of when your DROS was processed. That's when the 30-day clock starts ticking.

The above poster is correct...I just wanted to point out that when you buy from a "private party out of state" it is NOT considered a private party transfer (PPT), it is viewed as a standard dealer sale, and as you know, it subject to the 1 handgun per 30 day restriction. Private party transfers are exempt from the 1 handgun per 30 day rule.
