Beretta px4?

Anyone have one? How is it? Is it "better" than an m9?

I don't own one, but have several friends that do. From what I have have been told, the rotating barrel makes it a very soft shooter and reduces muzzle flip. Thinking about picking one up in .40.

I have one in .40 and love it! The rotating barrel does indeed make it quite a soft gun to shoot. There's a noticeable difference in recoil between it and my Sig 2022 .40. I definitely recommend trying one.

I have the full size and subcompact px4's in 40 s&w. Great gun for the $. My dad gave me his 92fs after he picked up his px4. IMO can't be beat for $400

The subcompact is probably my favorite 40 I own. When I take other people shooting that's the one they like the best.

If ever in the San Diego area you are welcome to try mine out.

I have one in .40. It was my first handgun. Super smooth shooter and reliable. I like it better than the beretta 96 series. I just don't shoot it anymore because I don't like the safety and I have switched to glocks/
Sigs.

I have a subcompact in .40 and it is my office gun. Small enough to conceal, but not as small as a baby Glock, which I have a hard time gripping. The recoil is not as bad as one would expect from the subcompact, but I have had some feed failures. Not sure if its the magazine or the feed ramp. It doesn't happen all the time, but it does occasionally. Overall, I like the gun, but can't beat my Sig!

Boy is it ever easy to strip. I don't have the M9 so I can't make the direct comparison - it's on my permit - and opted to list it over the Sig 2022 (other people are mentioning that gun)

I like the 9mm so much I'm doing a SSE for the .45 as it's not on roster.

Buy it - I used it for the main section of training @ FTA. I was a bit apprehensive due to the safety/decocker as some people complain about it digging into their fingers and over 200 rounds I didn't know if it would be an issue or not. It was not (for me).

I'm not the greatest shot in the world, so who knows how much of this is user error, but I find the sig to be just a hair more accurate, and the Beretta noticeably more comfortable to grip and to shoot. If I had $10 riding on a shot, I'd probably choose the 2022, but my hands/wrists can go all day with my PX4 at the range, which they cannot do with the Sig. I'm not saying the PX4 is inaccurate by any means. I can get a decent (for me) grouping way out at 65 yards, and the difference at 10 yards vs. the Sig is rarely discernible. If I could only own one, it'd be the Beretta, but both are great guns.

I have an SP2022 and M9. The combat sights on the Sig take some getting used to. My M9 shoots great in SA. DA is a l-o-n-g pull. Even more than the Sig.

Stripping the M9 is almost too easy. Press the button on the right side, flip the takedown lever and the slide comes off. No need to rack even the slightest bit. Just don't point it down unless you're over a table or some work surface. The slide will drop off.

I definitely want one. Once this SSE stuff is over (one way or the other), the Storm is next on my list.

I have the Px4 in 9mm, it is very easy to shoot and very soft on the recoil. Furthermore, the ergonomics is such that even my wife, who tends to limp wrist other handguns, does not do that with the Px4 Storm 9mm.

I don't have a M9 nor have I shot one to compare it to, but I suspect you'll find the Px4 Storm a very pleasant shooter. In fact, it is almost a disadvantage, because it is so easy and nice to shoot, you'll find yourself chewing through hundreds of rounds of ammo very easily.

The pistol has a very high level of build quality, very typical of Beretta products. Compared to my Colt 1911, the Beretta feels like a Lexus. Even the factory supplied magazine comes nicely coated and is very slick, dropping free and clear smoothly when you press the mag release button.

Pistols are not my primary home defense firearms (shotguns have that privilege) so I don't use high quality ammo. I've always fed mine with a steady diet of cheap reloads from Freedom Munitions, and have never had any problems. So reliability is top notch too.
