I'm fine with any sights. I just want to know which one people prefer.

I consider them to be equivalents but with different options. I think SA touted the RO as matching the fit and finish of the TRP/TM models but of the dozen or so that I've have handled that is clearly not the case. Unless they simply meant it was closer to the TRP/TM because of the match grade barrel.

The loaded might be more ideal for carry/SD with ambi safety, night sights, front serrations, etc.

I think PolishMike is hinting that people probably go with whichever model based on the type of sights they prefer. And I'd agree with him.

If you want ambi-safety and fixed sights get a Loaded. The RO has a standard one-sided safety and an adjustable rear sight. Other than that they are pretty similar inside as far as I know. Oh and of course, RO is not on "The List" and the Loaded is.
The RO and the standard Loaded are both Parkerized. I have a SS Loaded and it's very nice. Accurate and reliable so far. Have not handled or shot an RO. Good luck.

You are right, it (PX9109L) is. But Gallery of Guns does not seem to think so. I was interested in one and always check their site for comparison. Would not give me a quote due to my zip code.

I called them to ask why but did not really get a definitive answer. It is not the "P" at the end of the item number, something about the grips??? Stop the insanity!

Anyway, just bringing it up in case anyone checks there. I have seen them lift restrictions in the past.

Could we add the Colt Government 1991 series to the mix? They are in the same price range.

Then get either one because the sights are the primary difference. If you want adjustable bomar(?) style sights get the RO - Fixed sights get the loaded.

The slide itself is cut for the particular sights so you can't change them easily.
