Orange County Pistol Smith??

I'm ok with taking my shotguns to Bolsa Gun Smithing, but not sure about my Sig 1911. I wanted to crisp up the trigger and change out the Novak sights for FO type.

Who in OC would you trust to do a quality job on a Sig 1911?

Jim Hoag (Canoga Park)
Alan Tanaka
Bain and Davis
Wil O'Hara (Corona)

There's some old time experience above. Some are more expensive and take longer than others. All do great work.

JV Dynamics in Norco is another place that gets a good amount of the competitive work from the Norco Run and Gun USPSA matches

What you want is pretty elementary. Bolsa should be able to handle it assuming they have competent smiths.

Hoag and Tanaka are good to go, Hoag has been doing 1911s for decades.

Will O'hara is the go to guy for any 1911 work.
He does top quality work in reasonable time frames.

Alan Tanaka did my trigger on my Colt 1911. He did a great job. Will Ohara did some other work, and while the metal blending he did is awesome, the hot blue job not so much. I need to have my pistol refinished now because the bluing is terrible.

All future 1911 work for me goes to Alan Tanaka.

I had emailed you about it before and you said the same thing. I appreciate you offering to make it right, if in fact there is an issue with the finish. However, this means driving out to your shop and then leaving the gun with you until you do another round of bluing, and then coming back out to pickup the gun once finished. I decided instead I'm going to Cerakote everything, which has a much higher rust resistance than straight bluing.

Again, you did great work blending the safety to the frame and I'm happy with the quality of work outside of the ease of rust to the parts which were re-blued. I'm just telling it how it is, and if I wasn't going to Cerakote I would probably drop the gun off so you could look at it.
