    PPK or Bersa Thunder

PPK looks cool. Smaller and not so good trigger pull.

Bersa has better trigger, good value. Should be a fun gun to shoot at the range.

Does the looks cool factor worth extra $300?

Need to pick one for range, HD, and for fun, while I can still SSE.

For the money and affordability, Bersa.

With the PPK, I prefer the pre-S&W made models without the short grip tang/beavertail because of looks. However, in my experience and take it with a grain of salt, PPK can be hit or miss and don't get me wrong, I still love the Walther PPK.

I own the Bersa and have shot the PPK/s. If you offered me either one for free, I would pick Bersa.
Bersa Thunder is one of those 'hidden gems' of the handgun world. You actually get the better gun for the lower price.

              Or Sig P232...
tritium sights, CA legal version in brushed steel. No real safety on it. Mag release on the bottom by base of the magazine. Incredibly reliable assuming you are using the true factory German magazines.
Doing a SSE for the sake of doing one while you still can though: of course I would choose a Walther PPK.
Had a bersa and loved it though! Sold it right before it fell off the safe pistol list though. Only went with the Sig Sauer P232 because that's whats available and hard to find SSE friendly FFL where I am to get a bersa back or a walther ppk.
To me, the Sig Sauer P232 is the most refined version of the PPK design. I trust my life very confidently with mine. The P232 will cost you though, especially the stainless steel version being double what a Bersa costs retail.

                I have a Bersa Thunder .380. It's a solid little gun.

I was trying to make the same decision this week.

I've played a little bit with the PPK an old acquittance and a good friend each have one, IMO 007 novelty. I thought recoil was crazy excessive (for a .380) at least. It wasn't what I'd call reliable. Hold it too high and you get bit.

I haven't shot the Bersa but I've been playing with a friend's. I'll probably go shoot it soon. Much better trigger. It doesn't appear to bite. Also, everything I've seen and heard is that the recoil impulse is much better and the due to the chamber design it'll eat anything you feed it.

I have owned and shot a Bersa Thunder for several years. I agree with your statements. Once you actually shoot a Bersa, I think you will be very impressed.

It also looks so darned nice in Jennifer Lopez's hands.

The Walther PPK does NOT have a manual slide release or slide hold open lever. If you want the slide to lock open, you have to insert an empty magazine. If you want to drop the slide on an empty magazine, you have to remove the magazine. The Bersa has a manual slide release/hold-open lever.

                          Bersa Thunder for value.

For style, neither--I'd go with Beretta 85 Cheetah (or Browning BDA if you can find one).
