    Smart Guns

Did anyone listen to the report on NPR 2 days ago regarding the Smart Gun issue? I thought it was very informative. You can read it here or click to listen
The law says that once "personalized" guns are available in the U.S., all handguns sold in New Jersey must be smart guns. So, to avoid triggering the law, vendors aren't selling them — anywhere.

Ugly as sin and just a dumb idea.
Laws against murder and attempted murder should have been the only gun control laws ever needed in America...

Because that's what I want on my weapons; more crap to break when I need it most.

Nothing "smart" about this technology. Just waiting to fail when you'd need it the most.

Beat me to it. Might as well be a straw and spitwad if my life now depends on a watch battery.

More like "dumb" gun, "smart" watch. The gun is the slave while the watch is the master...just how gun prohibitionists want it.

If this "smart watch" is run on Windows, lets hope you won't have to push Ctrl+Alt+Del when it counts. "excuse me mr. bad guy, I just got the blue screen and I need to reboot. Can you wait 3 minutes please?"

I heard it on NPR, this ^ is why 'smart guns' are a bad idea. Electronic components are prone to failure, the most important aspect of a pistol is that it needs to fire every time the trigger is pulled. Trying to defeat this concept voids the purpose of having a handgun all together. I heard a guy on the program say he wanted the Armatix because he has children at home. It's not hard to buy a safe, or lock your gun and put it somewhere out of reach, or, you know, maybe do some actual parenting and teach your kid not to play with guns.

Honestly I don't ever see a single one of these selling unless Bloomberg or Feinstein buy one themselves.
