Sig P238 vs P938 for CCW

Anyone have experience with both the P238 and P938 for CCW and can comment on the carry differences?

They seem very similar but at that size, even half an inch or a few ounces affect the pocket-bility.

Also, any thoughts on recoil and reliability as far as the shooting performance?

    Thanks

I carry a P238 Regularly, though I can not speak to the P938 (on my SSE list for the year). Very easy to carry and conceal. Plenty of good holsters are available (I use a Holsterpro). Fits neatly in a pocket when not IWB and the weight is minimal.

As for shooting its probably one of the best in its class. Triggers is above average, accuracy is actually great and the only reliability problems you will have will be limp wristing. I have fed it every ammo I can find and no FTF or FTE. Recoil is not bad at all and target reaquisition is quick for follow on shots.

It is modeled as a mini 1911 and should be familiar to anyone who has shot them regularly. This may also be the one downside as well, for those not comfortable with it, it is a single action trigger and like a 1911 is carried cocked and locked. Not a problem for me, but may be for others. It also only comes with one magazine, for the cost that was disapointing.

they are almost the same size 938 the slide is about 1/16 wider, the 238 shoots a little smoother, but 380 is still harder to get, there is more 9mm out there plus a little more stoping power, i carry in a tt leather slim iwb very easy to hide. plus sse the 938 and no lci or mag saftey

Carry the biggest caliber you can shoot effectively. I used to have a Colt Mustang and I've shot the P938. The felt recoil of the P938 is sharp, but it's no harder than shooting a commander size 1911 with ball ammo. Love the size of the 938, and the gun doesn't print much more than my Bodyguard 380.

Look at the Sig P290 as well for 9mm. Slightly thicker but IMO a better grip.

I fondled both and ended up DROS'ing the P938 for the bigger caliber. Though the P238 is smaller, it didn't bother me going with the slightly bigger pistol.
