    Custom gun cases

I bought a Pelican im2200 with the cubed foam for my CZ TS slide/Shadow frame , Dan Wesson Valor and possibly hold 2 more pistols and mags. The cubed foam thing is ok but looks hideous so I started to search online for custom foam inserts. Well I called caseclub.com and talked to the cs rep there about custom cutting foam inserts for the Pelican. He then gave me a quote of $164.13 to do the work. Then he asked if I knew about the cases they manufacture and led me to through their website to see their custom gun cases. I was amazed in what I saw. For about the same price of a simple custom foam cutting design I could buy a whole case that holds 6 pistols and 12 mags. I have seen other brands go for double their price. It's also great that they are located in Anaheim. I'll be returning the Pelican case.

With pull up handle, wheels, and accessory compartment for $189

Not bad for the price. Let us know how it is when used.

And you're just discovering those guy now!?

Note that those guys also offer closed cell foam instead of the standard open cell foam that comes with most pelicans...and can hold moisture. Make sure you're ordering your case with the closed cell option.

Edit: My bad. I thought you were talking about THESE guys...

They're the ones that offer closed cell foam...and a variety of pre made gun cases. Not sure if case club offers the closed cell option. These guys also have some rather nice cases to hold 2&2 (two rifles and two pistols) or 3 & 3. You should check them out too.

Nice link - thanks for sharing. And to think I've been using multiple 2, 3, or 4-gun cases when making those big trips to the range! It would be nice to consolidate into a single case.

seems like a waste to me - you can fit more & have more versatility using layered foam & laying them flat.

I saw there's previously while researching but the case club is priced alot lower. Only difference are those inserts at the opening of the cut outs.

Seems their layouts are efficient in using it's space, layered foam laying them flat will require a wider longer case.

I don't know I can get 8 pistols into a SKB 1610 laying them flat, which is only 1" wider and could probably do with out the extra inch... seems pretty efficient to me, just sayin
              edit; photo added.

I will usually run something between the ones in the middle so that there is no chance of them moving. the second picture is to shot the thickness of the foam which is the same on the bottom layer with egg carton style foam on the inside lid.

this allows me the versatility to put any pistol I own in the case including my revolvers - also the use of the CZs in the picture was no accident.

BTW the foam cost me about $30 and I got two more, thinner pieces as well

edit #2 don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to come off as well a Bastard, I am just giving you, and others, an cheaper alternative... I am sure what they sell is a top quality product.

I saw the guncruzer ones at a gun show and was thinking about trying to make my own. Just looked like Kydex type material. Anyone done it? I already have a pelican and wanted to make an insert to fit into it.

You can get some spray foam and spray it into a plastic bag then set your gun and mags to. Once dry it will form a hard mold in your Pelican case. They do this sometimes when shipping turbos. My Borg Warner turbo was shipped in the box the same way.

If you're just looking for a hard case to haul your pistols to the range, here's a Plano Four Pistol Case on sale for $12 shipped from Amazon.

I saw the Caseclub stuff at the last Crossroads show. Very nice stuff. They also have lower priced cases that don't come with the lifetime warranty but are great for the price.
