Gen4 Glock 17...issues finally workedo out?

So how are all the changes proving to work on the Gen4 Glock 17? New finish holds up well? Reliability/ejection/extraction issues worked out?

Thinking of getting a Gen4 or either a USA Gen 3 G17 simply because I don't have one, but have been really happy with my Mid 2000s Glock 26 and 34. Thanks for the feedback on what you Gen4 owners think of the current production Glocks.

I'd think so, being the 5 posts a day stopped. I haven't seen a Gen4 rant in quite sometime.

My 23 with 40-9 barrel (With 40cal mags, spring, ejector) hasn't given me trouble with any of the 600 to 800 rounds of 9mm. Nor any of the 40 I've shot. If that says anything..

        *knock on wood

No problems after 500 rounds on my G17, I think I notice some weak ejection but that could just be me. My SP01 had that same werid weak eject with Winchester White Box. Either that or I'm just used to my USP45 which seem to eject consistently and with authority.

G17Gen4 with over 2000 rounds through it, and not a hiccup.
Waiting to see how the G26Gen4 works.

They are good to go now. Should be fine to pick one up as long as it's a new one.

Yes, since about mid 2012. The only problematic out of my four so far was made in early 2012. Though one us new and unfired so it's TBD.

All of my Gen4's (all with current RSA's) run without a hiccup with various ammo from +P to reloads that are on the lighter side (they're not "gamer" loads but they're very mild). One of my G17 Gen4 ran fine with an older RSA too. That particular one now has close to 4K rounds thru it w/o any issues other than a couple rare/random 12 o'clock extractions...so rare that I haven't even bother getting a Apex FRE.

G17 Gen 4. Had it about 3 months. Friends who have shot it love the new grip. Accurate. Runs flawless.

I shot a gssf match with my gen 4 17 earlier this year. I haven't fired it since then but through 500 rounds at high speed I've had no problems.

1000+ with Gen 4 G17 with no issues. It's my favorite handgun of the 5 that I own.

So I bought a G17 Gen 4, and have had the chance to put about 400 rounds through it over two days. Zero issues with function. Only thing I noticed is that the new gray finish is less slick with sweaty hands, but much less scratch resistant.

Thanks for pushing me into the purchase. Really happy with the Gen4 so far.
