    Bladetech OWB holster fitting problems

I recently ordered a Bladetech OWB holster for a Gen4 Glock 22 with Streamlight TLR-1 HL. Once it arrived, I found it would not accept the HL light, and after contacting Bladetech, I was told the TLR-1 shaped holsters will not accept the HL version. Ok, my mistake, should've checked on that first. I paid the shipping and sent it back for adjustment.

Just got the newly adjusted holster, and while the 22 with TLR-1HL will fully seat in the holster, there is no positive click of retention. Even after trying varying tightness of the screws, there is little to no retention, and zero click. Does this need to go back again? Anyone else have this issue with their Bladetech? Any tricks to try (that won't damage/void any warranty) before sending it back?

That's really odd, I thought the TLR-1 and TLR-1 HL were dimensionally identical.

I have a Bladetech OWB for Glock 34/35 which I ordered as with TLR-1. Fit is perfect with both my 34 or 35 using my TLR-1 HL.

It also functions fine with the same light attached on my Glocks 19, 22 & 23 (with of course the form fitting for muzzle length being too long)

Interesting. I thought the same, but when I called CS, she said, "Oh! Yes, the holster will need to be modified to fit the HL," as if it were a common problem and a call she was used to taking. I figured if that were the case, it would say on the site somewhere.

Wonder if I just have a lemon.

I have one for MK25 & one for P226R (.40 s&w) and they both make that click sound when guns are holstered in.

How about try holstering your gun without the light and try adjusting the screws that way?

I haven't tried it yet, I will when I am back home from work. However, on the Bladetech website it does specify that the holsters made for pistols with a light will not properly retain the pistol without the light attached... So I'm kind of doubting it.

It'll probably just get sent back again. Thanks for the advice guys

So when the gun (with light) is holstered in, try turning it upside down and shake it (not violently), if it falls then adjust the screws some more, little turn at a time until you get the proper tension.
But if there's no tightness happening, send it back. Good luck.

Mine will definitely not safely retain a pistol without the light attached.

I have a ton of the Bladetech OWB holsters. There is no consistency in the amount of tension they ship the holsters with. Some come with the adjustment screws way too tight, others way too loose. So, you definitely might need to methodically adjust to find the sweet spot.

Barang outlines a good process. I'd recommend 1/4 turn at a time. Don't be afraid to loosen them as well, when they're too tight, they'll actually prevent the gun from getting all the way into the correct spot in the holster.

You should at least feel it seat in to place, if not click. You should also feel as you pull it out a point where the holster lets go.
