Probably mid to late 80's more likely later 80's but I suppose it could have been imported in the 1990's as well. I have an Interamrs example that is missing the Arabic scribbling. The earlier ones like ours are supppose to be much better than the newest batch on mid to early 2000's importation.

I know it was certainly imported 80's but I am thinking it has to be older for production. It is too rough with the engraving in my mind to be an 80's production. Am I dreaming? Are there any records for NA to research?

There is a middle eastern gun forum at www.gunboards.com ask there. There is a Hebrew speaker there, not sure on Arabic.

Helwans are far from POS in my book. Their production dates back 40-50 years. Interarms imported them before Navy Arms. You might be able to get an import date from NA.

Yours looks newer to me (late 80s- early 90s production). Then again surplus weapons aren't as easy to read.
