I'm as big a fan as Wilson as the next guy, maybe more, but I'd be hardpressed to drop $8,000 on a 1911 when I can buy:

G19 -OR- M&P
dozen mags
10,000 rounds of 9mm

and still have a few thousand dollars left to get quality training.

At that price I'd rather have an Heirloom Precision or similar. Engraving is also lost on me. I appreciate the skill needed to do something like that but I have just never cared for it.

With that money, I would get a Wilson Combat Classic, a Les Baer PII with 1.5 inch guarantee and 5,000 rds of .45 ACP factory ammo!
