    Sig Sauer P226 Mag question

I recently purchased a used 9mm 226. As it was a police pistol the high capacity mags were not available to me. Where should I look for 10 round 9mm magazines that are reliable and won't break the bank? Any suggestions are appreciated.

You may have to change out the slide catch lever to change to 10 rd mags. My off roster 226 wouldn't hold the slide open after last round till I replaced the slide catch lever. This is the one I used to fix the problem. http://www.topgunsupply.com/sig-slid...p228_p229.html

Definitely wanna go with CA-Neutered Mec-Gar's.

And BigBully is right. It's not the first time I've heard about bad slide catch levers.

Bought my first sig sauer about three months ago. It is my favorite handgun. It is a P226 tacops, it came with (4) 15 round mags (Meg Gar plus 2 magazines). When the magazine is empty while shooting, the slide does not lock. I have put about 300 rounds through the handgun, I have ensured the...

Yeah. I didn't know till I swapped to 10 rd mags. Mine is a .40 but I'm not sure if that matters. Part seems to be the same between calibers. http://thewhereclause.blogspot.com/2...ement.html?m=1

Thanks all for the input!! I'm going with the Mec-Gar from topgunsupply. I'll be sure to check the slide lock as well.

+1 for Greg Cote LLC. Their pricing is usually the best. Otherwise, Brownell's, Midway, all the usual suspects. Good luck finding them in stock.

Really? I bought an off roster elite dark this year and I bought mags from top gun and didn't have that issue.

No issues here with my 9mm P226 and 8 different blue and nickel 10 round Mec-Gar mags.

                              Mec-Gar or factory mags?

From what I understand it can be hit or miss, because it depends on the year the pistol was made and the year the mags were made. There are multiple lever parts and multiple follower parts. At some point Sig changed the slide catch lever and the followers. It may even be model specific.

I bought my new off-roster P226 Enhanced Elite .40 and new 10 rd factory mags last year, but I'm not sure if they were all actually manufactured last year.
