Info on a Springfield double stack 1911A1

I pick up a Springfield double stack 1911 I cant find very much info on them its the 1911A1 double stack looks like a GI, how long were they made and are they worth more I was told from the guys I got it from it was rare, any range of value it's in like new cond, thanks any help would be great
