just wondering since the 227 was introduced earlier this year, does sig plan to make an elite version?

I hope so, but since the window is likely closing for SSE, I'm not going to wait for one. I've started getting things on my SSE bucket list, and a P227 is probably going to be next.

            I just got a 227 a couple months ago.
            It is one fine handgun.

seems like they make 20 versions of each gun now.

Wanted the Elite version too, but jumped at the carry version. Happy to have it, have not shot it. Figure I can sell it and trade up if they come out before years end.

I'll throw out a guess. I think the P227 is selling well and they've already introduced a bunch of different models (carry, SAS, equinox, dessert). My guess is that they will do an elite model with a beavertail, but probably won't do a scorpion, elite dark or elite stainless. The reason is that those models come with specialized grips, and I think the P227 is pretty much stuck to the E2 grips. It's already pretty fat with the E2, and putting on regular grips will probably make it too large for most shooters.

                  Again, just blind speculation.

So far, according to the SIG website, there are:
                      24 versions of the P220.
                      26 versions of the P226.
                      12 versions of the P229.
                      28 versions of the 1911.
AND only 3 of the P227.
I am sure that if you are patient, you will be able to get the "Dark Elite stainless extreme scorpion combat tactical carry X5 SAO" version. With the beaver tail of course.

You're only going to find them at a store that does SSE.

O C Firearms seems to get them in on a regular basis.

O C Firearms is good to go as well.
