Exactly what the title implies. I have a Ruger GP100, it's got a small scratch mark where the bluing has been stripped off. I need suggestions for a cheap easy solution that will prevent rust. It is in a place on the gun that is hard to see, so appearances don't really matter to me, I just need to the touch up work to prevent rust. At the moment, I am relying on eezox to prevent rust.

Cold blue will get the job done for you.

Touch it up with a little cold blue as REDdawn6 suggests. Little nicks and scratches are no big deal and add character. Just be sure to wipe your blued guns down with a slightly oiled cloth/rag after handling.NRA Life Benefactor Member

Thanks, much appreciated. I was worried that cold bluing would not do much to prevent rust, and was mainly used for looks.Last edited by Revolverhawk; 05-20-2014, 1:42 PM.Comment
