buying a used handgun that is off the roster

I have searched but I couldn't find the answer. I am planning to buy a Ruger 22/45 but it will fall off the roster in the end of June. Because of financial reasons I could not purchased before that day. Can I buy used 22/45 despite that is off the rooster? What about the excess inventory?
    thanks

After it falls off the roster, you can buy it from another guy via PPT, regardless the condition, however you won't be able to buy it from a store in any condition.

Buy from a private party (PPT) is okay, even an unfired gun, as such transactions are exempt from the roster.

      Good luck!

Hi guys. I'm new to the world of guns and still learning about this SSE. So just to clarify, you can buy a gun that is off the California roster as long as it's PPT without having to abide to the SSE criteria?

What if a retailer has excess inventory that they did not sell before a gun falls of the roster? Can a retailer sell the remaining unsold inventory without having to abide to the SSE criteria?

Thats not true, I have purchased several used revolvers that r off roster from a gun shop that buys the gun off the seller and slaps it under the glass and then turns around and sells them through ppt to the buyer using some fourm the seller signed.

Yes you can buy an off roster gun through ppt without sse.
The retailer with excess inventory is screwed.
Do I look like I'm ready for homework?

Excess dealer inventory that is off roster cannot be sold to consumers without SSE.

Are you sure these were not customer consignment guns? As they too are roster exempt.

                Or are you LE?

I was under the impression that California roster only applied to semi-auto handguns. Does it apply to revolvers too? I saw a couple of S&W revolvers that were expiring this month. The 686 comes to mind.

Thank you all for answering my question. I have no problem getting one through PPT.

Ca roster applies to revolvers except single action.

They were guns the shop purchased from a customer/seller. I sold them a gun once and they handed me cash on the spot, had me sign some paper too and made a copy of my CDL and I was done. Apparently they do it like a ppt to the next customer/buyer of the firearm. No need to be LE I have had friends do it from the same shop.

If these are off roster handguns they are running them as consignment sales.

No other way for them to do it with the details you describe.
