    I did the unthinkable

I am in no way shape or form a Glock fan. Never liked them, their look, feel, or price for that matter. while browsing around the internet, I discovered police trade ins. long story short, I found and bought a police trade Glock 22 for $339 shipped.

come on, you cant pass up a $300 gun. lol

Damn I'd take that any day of the week! If you don't mind me asking, how much was it out the door with tax and transfer fee?

roughly it came out to under $440. it also has night sights but they need to be replaced. the insides look amazing, doesn't look shot very much. the vendor I bought it from said they bought this batch directly from the police departments and this one may be from Austin PD. there was a bunch of stickers with crossed out writing on the box so that might be a clue, I will also ask glock what they know about the pistol.

It was probably freed from a holster a ton of times but it should work solid!

From the picture it certainly looks to be great condition and you saved yourself about $140 off new, so I call that a good day

First Glock I ever purchased was a Gen2 G22 police trade in back in the day. It ran like a champ for years. I'd still have if not for a job loss that required me to sell off the bulk of my pistol collection at the time, including the Glock.

I think it's often assumed that police trade ins will have been run hard and poorly cared for but my sense of it is that's not so much the case anymore. Advances in firearms technology have resulted in guns (like the Glock) that have ridiculous service lives. You combine that with the lucrative contracts that these manufacturers have with police departments where they're constantly cutting them insane deals on new batches of pistols before the old ones are even close to being used up and you get a very nice civilian aftermarket for said pistols.

Anyway, nice pick up OP. Get a 9mm and .357 Sig drop in barrel for that puppy to really maximize your shooting fun!

Looks good. A Glock isn't supposed to be pretty anyway. Who cares about round count. Glocks should be capable of shooting 10s of thousands of rounds. Getting my first Glock pretty soon here, a 23. If I saw a good deal on a trade in M&P I'd go for one of those too. The grips are more comfortable IMO.

I sure like the feel of metal frames, but it's hard to dismiss the plastic gun's advantages.

It definitely is nice. A decent amount of holster wear on the front of the slide but it's in otherwise good condition. It has night sights but they look dim but I've heard it isn't too expensive to get then refilled by the company who makes them.

I'm more a Walther and Colt guy but hey for what I paid for it, I feel it is definitely worth it. Only 9 more days
