EAA or Tristar

Want a cz75 clone and couldn't decide on which one. Anyone with experience on both handguns and wanna share?

Is that true Tristar uses the same mag as cz?

Don't have experience with Tristar. But I can tell you that the EAA Witness Elite Match is one fine handgun. Shoots very well. A definite pride in my small stable.

Great shooter! This was my first gun. Fits the hand like a glove. The finish on them sucks though.

About 6 or 7 years ago there were cracking issues with the 10mm EAA Witness handguns that had the Wonderfinish slides. It was an isolated issue with that model and slide.

To be honest, I no nothing about Tristar guns. Don't even think I've heard the name before.

I do however own an EAA Witness Elite Limited 9mm and would recommend it to anyone and everyone. I did lots of research before buying it and found lots of great feedback and the one thing that was repeated over an over was accuracy.

I thought there were no EAA witnesses on the roster, only the weird "Windicator" revolver.

If you're talking about SSE then no problem, just kind of odd to SSE a gun like an EAA.

Don't know anything about TriStars (just handled them a few times at shows, that's all), but Witnesses, especially the Elite series, are great handguns. My Witness Elite Match has probably the best trigger I've tried outside of 1911s, and is extremely accurate. I also have a regular steel Witness in .45 with a 10mm conversion, and it works very well, as well (and no cracking from the 10mm top, either).

Got mine from a friend who ordered 10-rounder mags direct from the company or main distributor. I believe they are located in FL.

Mag compatibility can be hit or miss. They might not sit flush or lock the slide back after the last round but generally you can cz mags to work.

EAA and tristar both import some nice cz-ish clones. It really depends on which model you want but both importers offer good products. I've owned a few of them and might lean towards the tristar if you want to do some aftermarket trigger work.

I buy 10-rnd mags directly from EAA. It might take some waiting though.
