    CZ 75 SP-01 in...

9mm or .40 SW?? What's your experience? It's hard as hell to find one in 9mm but I've been able to find a few in .40. Really want to get one (in 9 if possible) but will settle for 40 if peeps can sell me on it. How's the recoil on the 40??

I'm biased for 9mm. Love my 9mm SP-01. I would imagine the weight of the SP-01 would help manage the recoil pretty well in .40

40sw recoil on my 75b isn't bad steel frame + low bore axis

Just letting you know that the sp01 40sw isn't on the roster xD

I bet its pretty tame in the cz. The 9mm will always shoot softer. I have a glock 35 in .40 and I dont think its bad at all. The cz is a much heavier than the glock too. If you can i'd still go for the sp-01 in 9mm though.

SP-01 in 9mm is one of the sweetest shooters out there.

40 cal in the regular 75b is awesome to shoot, would imagine the SP-01 would be nicer.

Had a A SP-01 9mm for a minute. Crazy accurate even in my inaccurate hands! Nice pistol & worth the coin at the time. The fit & finish was fair (to be kind) but for a $500 OTD pistol I was quite satisfied. But for the prices they're going for these days, I hope CZ has stepped up their QC!

I have the SP-0 Tactical in .40, pretty soft shooter. Off roster, would have to SSE but fairly available.

The 9mm is more difficult to find, especially the on roster sku with 10 round mags. The model with standard mags is a bit easier to find but would have to SSE it. You don't state your location so can't help you there, but Hinterlands had them the other day and CZ Custom has the 9mm Tactical in stock right now (1 left I think).

When I think SP01 = 9mm, when 40sw is brought up USP40 comes to mind.

Interesting. I have literally every SP-01 variant there is, factory and custom, bang the crap out of them, compete with them, and I have never, repeat never questioned the quality. Easy 3k rounds a month and they keep right on chugging. If they weren't so reliable and crazy accurate they wouldn't be near as popular as they are in competition.

I think I have every full-size Glock except the 24, M&P 9L Core, higher end 226 variants, XDM Competition, M1 and 5" M2 PPQ's (that's a nice gun though), some nice 1911's, bunch of other crap and they all pretty much just gather dust now.

Though granted I do not pay much attention to finish, far more concerned with how many and how fast I can convert rounds into points or into steel. Also think if it came down to finish STI would be out of business except hard chromed models yet they are incredibly popular in limited, open and 3-gun.

The 40 caliber SP01 only comes in decocker version, right?
So, you can not have a SAO trigger installed?

I truly don't know why anyone would buy anything in .40 anymore. Watch the for sale forum... .40 guns take 2-3 times longer to sell also. If you're concerned about stopping power, buy a box of 20 high quality 9MM defense rounds. For the range, again why in the hell would you want a .40 in that gun? Buying a SP-01 in .40 is kinda like buying a 4x2 truck with a suspension lift and having no intention of going off-roading...

                            SP01 = safety
                            SP01 Tactical = Decocker

because a 40 is all that is available because people dont want to buy them.

op, just wait for the 9mm to become avail at your lgs or online. its better going with the best rather than settling on a 40 because its there.
