    Proper Handgun Grip/Technique

If you are a right handed shooter:

Overlap thumbs on top of eachother on left side of handgun (left thumb underneath right thumb)

Squeeze with your left hand, leave your right hand loose and only use it to pull the trigger.

Feet shoulder width apart, bring the sights up to your eye level

amiright? I seem to really get on target doing the above, even with underwood 10mm

i have a "handshake" strength grip with my firing hand, and about as much rearward pressure with my non firing hand.

thumbs are the same as your description.

I ride the safety where possible (i.e 1911, CZ, etc.) and left thumb forward. Stronger hand pressure from the left hand. Right hand exerts less pressure.

My elbows are slightly bent and my feet are parallel (not Weaver).

The "thumbs forward" grip is popular right now. Maybe it will stick, maybe it wont. All I can say is that I've seen more vids of people inadvertently actuating safeties and slide stops while shooting that way than I care to count.

If they're causing the gun to malfunction then they're not achieving a proper grip. Don't blame a technique for lack of training.

Use more pressure on my covering hand than the hand on the grip. Works well for me but I know different people have different methods.

Hold it sideways, like in the movies.
