    Which recoil spring for G20

Just like the title says I am looking for a recoil spring for my G20 so the frame is not getting beat up and so it will cycle hotter loads. It had just the oem barrel for now. I'm just seeing what your opinions are. It's a gen 3 standard frame.

I put a DPM recoil reducer rod in my G20SF. Comes with 2 springs, one for normal, one for heavier loads. I haven't shot it much yet but it's been reliable so far. Should protect the frame with heavier stuff. Glock put the dual spring guide rods in the Gen 4's so similar principle.....for what it's worth.

The stock spring will work best most of the time. (17 lbs)

However is you're running some 600 foot pound stuff, then if run a 22 pound spring. A few mags of hot ammo with the normal spring won't hurt anything.

^^^ I love the extended barrel. But I use mine for hunting so it's kinda not practical. Sure do like the look tho.

Yeah, it's an easy way to get more velocity without over boosting the pressure.

I also have a mech-tech conversion in 10MM and I can get 2000 FPS easy peasy.

Really a good 150 yard plinker with a punch. The perfect survival carbine if to you're looking for a companion caliber.

I did a thread about it here:

I always look forward to Oceanbob's pictures.

I run a 22lb ISMI spring and captive stainless guide rod (I got mine from Glockmeister) in my G20SF's (and my G21SF's, for .45 Super loads). It keeps the slide off the frame with my hottest 10mm loads and will cycle my lightest 40S&W loads as well. The only downside it a little more felt recoil.

That's a sweet looking carbine. And I was thinking of going with the ismi spring.

I went with the glockmeister SS guide rod with a ismi 22lb spring.

Well I tried to order it from glockmeister but they were back ordered so I went through lone wolf and got the same set up.
