    The wait is finally over

I finally picked up my Colt "Bob Chow" 1911 today. I tried to get an idea ahead of time on what the going rate was for these, but instead had to rely on my own common sense and knowledge to decide if it was going to be a good deal or not. I got the gun, 250rnds of premium ammo, 12 mags, and a holster. I obviously can't just lock this one up in the safe without shooting it, so I'll post a blog as soon as I have a chance to take it to the range.
As far as I can tell from the serial #, it was manufactured in 1968. I'm not really up to speed on Colts to know if this is a good thing or if they're better years of mfg. Those who know Colts might want to respond. I'll post again after I get back from the range.

It may have a reduced weight recoil spring so change it to a 16lb if you plan on shooting full power ammo.

                Looks good OP! Congrats!

My only gripe about those old school Colt 1911's is the hammer bites I get when shooting them. But I dig the looks a lot.

                Enjoy and stay safe!

I was told that a B Chow 1911 has a stamp saying so?

I was actually surprised to see that the slide is harder to pull back than my other 1911's. That spring is WAY stout, but the action and trigger are smooooooth!
