I wanted my final pistol to be a nice 1911. I have a Sig Railed 1911 in stainless, which I enjoy shooting, but I wanted a something a bit nicer. With the wifey's ok, I got a Les Baer Premier II (non 1.5") today.
I didn't think that it would be that much better than my Sig, but wow, it is
It's tight as expected and I had a few failures in the first 200 rounds I put through today, but that didn't seem out of the ordinary for a Baer.
This thing locks up real tight. My Sig is a rattlematic in battery, but the Baer doesn't rattle at all. I only shot it at 10 yards, but I did way better with it than I ever did with my Sig.
The only things I don't care for are the sights. I'll eventually switch them out to a fiber front. The adjustable rear is actually pretty good, hopefully it doesn't start moving around. I didn't have to do any adjustments to it. The grips are REALLY grippy, but I'll be switching those out to a G10 set to go all black.
My modified CZ 97 was my favorite shooter in my stable, but now, the Baer just might take that title
