Let me see if I can explain this properly. Glock frames are the serialized piece but so is the barrel. I currently own a 17 and 34 which have interchangeable frames and slides. Legally is there a problem using a glock that has barrel that doesn't correspond with the serial number on the frame?

Everytime I see this it always pops a question in my head.
What if that serial number had been reported lost, stolen, or insurance claim,
could you get in trouble.Comment

Assuming you still have lawful possession (e.g. own the gun), it would be an easy matter to clear up.
If you sold it, there will be a record of that, too.We in Bangor, Maine now baby.Comment

The frame serial number is the only thing that matters. You can buy replacement barrels and slides that are not serialized and its legal.Let me see if I can explain this properly. If you are talking about the receiver yes, but parts you have records really???
Actually what I was thinking for example purely just a Hypothetical scenerio.
You own any handgun that has serial number stamped on the receiver and barrel. Now you change out the barrel for what ever reason and sell the old. Now lets say a burglary of your home happens and you have to report the firearm stolen. Now a down the road the barrel you sold for some reason gets brought into the lime light.Comment

I think you're spending too much time thinking about a scenario where it doesn't matter. If you are talking about the receiver yes, but parts you have records really???
