Glock 34 Dawson Precision Fiber Optic front sight

    Hi,
I just Dros'ed a Glock 34 Gen4 and was thinking about replacing front stock sight with dawson precision fiber optic sight and use it with stock adjustable glock rear sight.

    What do you guys think?

If its a good option, what height Dawson front sight should I get? 0.160T or 0.170T? I read somewhere that stock glock front sight is 0.165.

Dawson Precision is the experienced shooter's source for top quality pistols, parts and gear. Our state-of-art facility keeps us on the cutting EDGE of technology, providing you with the highest quality products at the best price.

    Please advice.

    thanks

I recommend also using their charger rear sight, they work great together. I have mine set up with green rear FO and red front. A huge improvement over the plastic factory sights.

I always recommend replacing the stock plastic sights. The fifty bucks for a good solid steel sight is well worth it.

You will see a six port barrel and be tempted to put it in your G34.

Don't, unless you enjoy scraping carbon off of your fiber optic front sight.

          Phooey.

Stock rearadjustable doesnt work well with dawson FO front? My issue with stock front is that the dot is little big and to align front sight with rear, the dot has to be covered little bit.

I am ok with rear being plastic because I am not be using holster to be concerned about breaking and also I was thinking white U will help in faster tsrget aquisition than all black rear.

              please advice

Last night I put on a Dawson Precision FO front sight with a Dawson Adjustable all black rear on my G34. The adjustable rear is somewhat tall so the recommended fronts are .285 or .300. I went with the .285 as I *think* that's what I will need for shooting factory 115gr loads.

I had decided to buy the TTIs, but they are out of stock with no known in-stock date. I think the TTIs have a much better finish, but I also needed tools and they come with the Dawsons.

When I installed my Dawsons last night, I put the front sight on first. Frankly, I think the FO front with the stock Glock rear is a really busy/distracting sight picture. I'm glad I decided to replace both. I was considering only replacing the front.

I haven't had a chance to shoot it my G34 yet (it just got out of jail on Monday and I was out of town for work until Friday) but I absolutely LOVE the sight picture with the all black rear and FO front. I've been shooting a long time and never tried an all black rear until a couple weeks ago on a friend's M&P Pro...I absolutely loved it.

For reference, I also have a G35 with stock sights that I've had for about a year. The stock sights are certainly usable, I generally finish in the top 3 for our local club matches with it. I'm looking to push up my speed a bit with the new sights and the G34.

                  My advice is call Dawson!
The stock rear sight should be just fine. My guess would be most swap that one too to achieve a more uniform sight picture... Either smooth or ribbed or whatever. Maybe a smaller rear notch for increased accuracy? Start with the front, see what you think, and go from there.
                  FWIW I run a Dawson front 160.

How about if paint the rear white U with black paint?

                    thanks

I would not combine the fiber front with the standard glock u notch rear. Too much going on and defeats the whole purpose of quickly picking up on the fiber. If you want to keep the u notch rear sight, you mine as well go with tritium in the front. Otherwise, get a plain/serrated rear with the fiber front. I went with a Warren Tactical set and it is very nice.
