    Glock problem!

I have a glock 17 set up for open in USPSA, and I think I have too much extractor tension, the slide will not go into battery every time 1in5 will hang up. I have about 150 rounds through it, is this just it's break in period? This just doesn't seem right to me.

You're using a G17 for Open? You're behind the curve there buddy. But hey, if that's what floats your boat, more power to you. Open shooters usually have a 2011 style set up.

Back to your question... Just a wild guess but it may not be your extractor spring. Could be your recoil spring if it's not going back into battery. What's the weight on it? Reloads or factory ammo? More info would help.
Hope for the best, expect the worse... Does that make me an optimistic pessimist?!

First of all...everyone knows that Glocks never have problems
      Second of all...its operator error.

My Glocks have always fed and extracted using factory ammo.

Spend $8 bucks on a new recoil spring. Yours is too weak.

Sounds like a weak recoil spring.

Glocks do not have 'extractor tension' like a 1911 extractor, so that's not it. You most likely have a weak recoil spring, and to check that crank the slide, let it go forward, pull the trigger, hold the trigger back, and tip the gun up still holding trigger, and pull the slide about 3/16" out of battery, let go. It should return, if not, time for a new recoil spring. Good luck shooting a G17 in Open Division, I have just started competition but already know that most guys in Open run STI's

Neither have I had any probelms on mine, mostly reloads, but I haven't changed anything out from the OEM either.

My glock 22 had a few hiccups in the break in period. What ammo are you using. After a few hundred rounds it runs like a champ.

The springs are brand new, new barrel, everything is new. So maybe it's just a break in stage? Now I don't get lightstrikes, just once in a while it'll fail to go into battery

Minor load around 155pf with xtreme 124gr RN and mixed brass. All my ammo is chamber checked and spring is 11lb with 2 coils cut also tried regular 11lb and 13lb with no changes in performance

Have you tried to change your OAL? I run my Glock 34 using a 1.135 OAL. Chambers every time.

I run 1.15" out of my G34 flawlessly, I polished the feed ramp and throat of the barrel on it first I haven't done that to this barrel yet just trying to see if it'll work itself out

are you loading on a progressive press? are you checking your charges often? some types of powder will not meter consistently so powder charges will vary like .2 or .3 grn of powder. did you leave your powder out in sunlight or in a damp environment? did you try a regular weight recoil spring?

I'm using a Dillon SDB, my open glock 22 started out similar and then it floated after around 2000 rounds, but that seems outrageous to me

Glock problem??? How can that be? You changed the barrel and springs, but it's a Glock problem? Come on, put the OEM barrrel and recoil spring in, shoot factory ammo and it will be happy. Why are you running at 155PF when you only need 125 for minor? I load on a Square Deal also, 125 Bear Creek at 1.155" over 4 grains of Titegroup and have never had failure to go into battery. Except for when I let new shooters try to run it and they limp wrist it.
