Daewoo HD40 magazine interchange.

I have a Daewoo DH40 pistol and i am trying to find magazines for it. I can not find anyone that has them because they are no longer imported. I am looking for magazines from some other pistol that i can modify to work. I have read that you can use mags from a S&W 4003/4006. I happen to have a a 4003 so i already have theses mags. They are close and the notch even looks like it is in the right spot but they are to narrow. The DH40 clip is about .845 wide and the S&W clip is only about .780 wide. Can anyone tell me if they know of a 40 cal double stack mag that has a width that is close to .845.

I have a pistol and i can not find factory mags for it. Why is it a "terrible, terrible idea" to try and find a magazine from another gun maker that would work with my gun? I emailed Lionheart a few months ago and never received a reply. I just gave them a call and they told me that their mags don't work with the 40 caliber. The 10 round mags are also for a compact gun, so it might be to short for mine. If the 13 or 15 round did actually fit, I would not be able to order them because I live in California.

This is assuming that this DH40 is just a range toy... But what you could do is build up the width of the 4006 magazines with tape. I converted one of my pre-ban 5906 magazines to run reliably in my M&P by widening the magazine catch notch with a file and using masking tape to help seat the magazine in the M&P's magazine well. It sounds ghetto but it works.

Good luck I hope you figure this out. Daewoo makes a neat gun I regret not buying one.
