    Rifle Gear Customer Satisfaction!

Today I finally visited Rifle Gear in Fountain Valley. I have to say, that their sales reps are awesome. They were very thorough and extremely helpful. I went in there wanting to get a look at a SSE Gen4 Glock 19. They didn't have one to show me, but the sales rep went out of his way to the back to grab me a SSE Gen4 Glock 23 so that I could feel the difference between the Gen3 and Gen4. Although I still walked out of there undecided on my purchase, I definitely left with a great impression on the store, and will absolutely make a purchase from them in the future. I just wanted to say something about my experience. I know a lot of you have had similar experiences in there as well. Thanks for hearing me out. Now if I can just make up my stupid mind about either a Glock 19 (either Gen) or a M&P Shield 9mm..... ugh decisions decisions...

Riflegear is a great place. Sometimes too busy, but I understand that.

A more fair comparison is the G19 to the M&P9c. They are almost identical in size. The Shield is a bit smaller, much thinner, and doesn't hold as many rounds.

I have both the G19 and Shield. I like them both, you can't go wrong with either one.

I bought my first AR from them and more recently, Mossberg 930 SPX. Both purchases were exceptional experiences.
My sales rep was very knowledgeable and patient throughout.

Another reseller I have nothing but good things to say is O.C. Firearms. Friendly and helpful.

OC Firearms for me. Had a bad experience with riflegear. Too corporate like. But their sales rep are nice and friendly.

Go up the street and safe some money at OC firearms!

Bought several guns from them and done a couple ppts ... Favorite spot to go to. Pricing is competitive and can't say enough good things about their staff.

I've got to go there in person one day. I live in south OC and routinely buy guns from them to be shipped to OC Armory (another great shop by the way)

The guys at rifle gear ALWAYS call me to let me know the shipment went out, and to remind me that they have a shop too if I'd prefer to pick the gun up in person.

              I've always been really impressed.

Agreed, RF has some great staff. But my last experience trying to SSE a pistol turned me off. Their rules are inconvenient for SSE pistols now.

If you don't mind me asking, what are their rules?

I've been meaning to check out RifleGear, but have not had a chance.

I've also had a pleasant experience with OC Firearms.

                  Thanks!

I went to Rifle Gear and purchased a g19 about two weeks ago and it was a great experience. The sales rep was helpful and patient. After it was out of jail, I went to pick up the G19 and while I was being checked out I asked the same rep that had helped me check in, who was standing near by doing nothing, if they had any P226 in stock. He said, "yeah, just go online and look. Whatever we have on there we have in stock."
I don't need to be spoon fed, however If I'm already in your shop, and I'm obviously dropping cash, why not try and sell me another gun by actually showing me some guns. Anyways. The transaction on the g19 was more than adequate, but I just found it strange how disinterested he was in selling another gun.

Because of the disinterest R.G. had in me purchasing a 226/229, I decided to try OC firearms since I've heard nothing but great things. In doing my research and emailing them, I asked why the M11-A1 they sell only come with two mags vs 3 everywhere else. I was told "well I dont know, I cant guarantee you'll get 3 from our distributor since they only list two" OC didn't seem interested in calling their wholesaler/distributor and asking to find out if it was a listing mistake or if there was a voucher included for the 3rd as many people have stated online. Who knows man, obviously these questions are too cumbersome or I'm too high maintenance of a customer. I Don't know. So now I'm not sure where to drop $1100 next time.

We really appreciate the comments. People that have bad experiences with a business are usually the ones that are most willing to say something publicly, so we always enjoy reading the positive feedback.

Please PM me your information so I can look up which sales rep handled your transaction because if your story is accurate that is unacceptable and someone is going to hear from me. Unless those items were are all out of stock I can't imagine why a sales rep would refer you to our website when you are standing in the store.

I'm not sure what you mean as our SSE rules have actually been simplified. We can now pretty much SSE any pistol, the price is $25 for any single-shot conversion (AR and AK style has no additional charge, single-action revolver is $50 due to the extra labor involved). You order the firearm online and when we have a kit for you we contact you (usually within a month) to find out if you can come in to start the DROS, you come in and we start the paperwork. We charge you for the SSE and DROS when you come in to start the paperwork. If you decide you don't want the gun, we cancel the order no charge. It's not that complicated, but you will have to wait for a kit to be available.

What we don't do is let anyone handle an off-roster, unconverted handgun in advance. That would be the equivalent of us offering an off-roster handgun for sale, which we are prohibited from doing. We could put a bunch of handguns in the case labeled "Law Enforcement Only", but that would probably just cause us to have to tell more and more people "sorry, we can't let you look at that one unless you are law enforcement".

                        Thanks,
                        David

Oh man, I didn't really want to get anybody in trouble. He was great when I came in the first time to check in on the G19. It just threw me off that he would refer me to website when I was in the store. I do appreciate the response though.

Shark, you are awesome for answering these posts! I have heard so many great thingd about your shop.

If you were not an hour and a half away from me, you would have gotten most if not all of my business for sure! You really need to set up anothet shop in LA area to serve our needs here, preferrably in Glendale Burbank area, lol!

                            Good stuff!

We are so freakin' lucky here in OC. I have had great experiences with Riflegear, OC Armory, OC Firearms and now Ed's Tactical. Oh and go to hell Turners, not bitter or anything.
