Question about Lone Wolf barrels and Back Orders

Hey all, I didn't see any answers to this question in the search menu so hear I am. I recently purchased a Glock 23 40-9 conversion barrel from Lone Wolf on the 19th of this month. Its expected delivery was on the 18th of this month and I sent them an email asking when they'd expect to have them in stock. I was given a somewhat brief answer explaining they'd get them soon and once they get them they have to go through the QC process. Once that process is complete they'd then send them out to the people on the back order list first.

So my question is, how long has it typically taken for you cal gunners to receive your conversion barrels from Lone Wolf that were on back order? I have no problems waiting, but I'm just curious as to what that wait might be. 1 month? 2 months? I guess I'm just excited to go plinking with some 9mm out of my 23.

Thanks for anyone who wants to chime in on this.

It's probably in a container delayed in customs, LoL.

Get your magazine and ammo yet?

Lmao you might be right about that customs thing. Made in china comes with a hefty delay I suppose.

I have a couple of magazines on back order at Glock Store but I'll worry about that headache after I get my barrel lol. Luckily my cousin has a few 19 mags though, so I can always borrow his. As for the ammo, I've seen a pretty decent amount of 9mm locally so I'm not to concerned with that.

Oh how slow time passes when I sit there hitting refresh on the Lone Wolf page hoping the Expected Delivery Date is updated.

I've ordered a G19 LWD barrel from them when it on back order but due on a specific date. IIRC, I received the barrel around 2 weeks after that date.

I'm sure it was but I used the live support and was prompted to send them a message since nobody was available.

Hmm, maybe you lucked out? 2 weeks isn't bad at all.

Yeah, I might consider doing this. I just checked out glock store and I wasn't even aware they had conversion barrels. Figures not only do they have the barrel I'm looking for in stock but they are $5.00 cheaper . I should have shopped around more. If you don't mind me asking, was it difficult to cancel the order? As far as I know I still haven't been charged for the barrel, so it shouldn't be to difficult to back out.

Before canceling any order, be sure and call Glockstore to see if they have the barrel in stock. I love the Glock Store but like most websites, they don't run in real time inventory.

LoneWolf is always on backorder. Seriously, they can't seem to keep up on most of their products. This is an old subject that has been debated for years over at Glock Talk. The barrels come from overseas and once they arrive they need more finishing and checking before they go into the parts bin. It's a Bell Curve.

I shopped LWs sight but never placed an order. I went to Glockstore as soon as I saw they were backordered. I expect they'll gladly cancel the order especially since you haven't been charged.

Good call, I'll contact them before I make another order only to be back ordered.

                    Yeah that's what I'm hoping.

I have always wanted to try a long wolf barrel but have been pleased with my KKM precision barrels.

Just buy a KKM and don't look back.

I have to second this notion. I love the KKM precision barrel I'm running in my glock 20 with a 22lb tungsten spring. Cycles my reloads perfect and limps factory brass out but still cycles.

Heck you can call them up and they will custom make it to whatever chamber support you are looking for.

I'm starting to consider just going the KKM route. Now that you guys have brought it up, I'm reading a lot of good things about KKM. Not to mention the KKM barrel isn't that much more expensive than the lone wolf. And I'd be paying the extra amount which translates into better quality from what I'm reading.

I'm new to the whole conversion barrel market so all of your comments are appreciated.

You really can't go wrong with KKM. Fantastic products and very reliable. I would not think twice about purchasing another one. In fact looking to buy one for my g17 even though I don't need it persay.
