I almost sold this for cheap! PIC HEAVY

I want to start by saying I am not a supporter of 1911s. I so not think they are good combat guns and get the plastic guns are better in the field any day of the week and easier to clean and maintain. So I got one cause it really looked cool to me and when I wanted another 45 I thought I just trade this

Said I would sale it for all this for a pretty good price under $900

No buyers but couple and the one that met me said "No thanks " cause of this mark.

I really didn't want to sale so I said "bump it" and got some new shoes for my Euro/American girl

Ended up with this and bough the other anyway.

The liberal see's the glass as half full and tries to take more.
The conservative see's glass as half empty and tries to keep it that way.
I'm with the people on the side just pouring water in the glass trying to get a drink!

Ya I have always like the "look" of the 1911 but never had one. Lately I have been looking at the Wilsons. I don't know, I love my Glocks but the 1911 is just so classic.

That "mark" was enough to ruin the deal?!?! Maybe he was doing you a favor and trying to get you to keep it!

That's pretty hard to believe people would walk away from a deal because of a tiny scratch. All my guns show some degree of wear since I shoot them all. I guess I'll never be able to sell them...

1911's are almost better than sex, but you wouldn't know anything about that either, huh? Me and this one been together for 37 years, back when you had to build it. Now you can just buy one with all the sweet mods. Ah, progress!

Ya, the 1911 sucks, that's why it was only in use by our military for what 80+ yrs??? And now the Marines are using it again. Come on man.

Never the less, congrats on getting a Sig 1911.

Yeah maybe he was. The moment I left the meeting spot I went to go buy grips to make me feel better.

Look I really dislike them as combat guns like I dislike mustangs for military patrols BUT I REAALLLLLY love the look of a 1911. No plastic gun will EVER look as good. Just like a HMMV will never be as sexy as a Selby Cobra.

Corps didnt keep using the 1911 cause it was better. They kept them because they already have the smiths to maintain them, parts and mags. It's cheaper to keep her then get a new girl to swing with and new parts, extras and with training to maintain. C'mon man you knew this!

Dude really? You can get all your armorers up to speed in two to three weeks of training but would Glock sell the G21 for $263? I do not think so

Glad you are starting to enjoy your 1911. I have the same one, but she doesn't get used much since I got my R1.
