Range Person not up on things

Waiting to Dross a Ruger LCR 357 (Ca stupid 1 gun every 30 day law) but wanted to try one out, called Brea gun range to ask if they rented LCR 357's the guy said no they are no longer on the ca roster. Went to the roster myself and found all the LCR'S still there..... May have to find a different range

Ive learned not to ask too many questions at lgs or range. Most of them are not up on laws...i just come here to ask or ask mr.google, he always has sumthin to say...

When in doubt, Do it yourself as you did and you got your answer. LGS customer service reps have been known to spread FUD.

since when does a range have to use on roster guns? Range guns are considered inventory and new and they belong to the FFL. A Range can have whatever guns as long as it is not an NFA weapon unless they have the paperwork for it.

Trust by verify. I have found most to be receptive to polite corrections. The ones who are not receptive generally don't have a very long conversation with me.

You share the perception of most. Go to a lgs or range and expect resident experts. Same as going to a mechanic or a boat shop. Unfortunately non of the above require much more than a GED or vocational certificate to stand behind the counter. Better of coming here or googling it.

I dunno. I have guys tell me things at a LGS that seemed like they just wanted me to think the only gun ever worth or even legally capable of buying is the one in my hand.

I had that same LGS tell me SSE was actually illegal.

              I didn't argue I just left.

Of course I've had people respond to this with, "you shouldn't belive what you read on the internet"... There's no convincing the convinced.

I really never trust anyone from LGS or ranges for their advice. Do my own research and decide.
