    Picked up CA shield today

Here it is. Fits the hand perfect, it is a little slippery, my other M&P's with the back strap have more grip to it.

    the M&P family, 45, 9mm

9mm full size and 9mm shield

here is what draws the most ire it seems

Holy crap. I thought that the words "Loaded when up" was Photoshopped into the pics from S&W, but I now see that they are always on top of the slide.

    Thanks for the pics.

Add the talon grips it makes that issue go away. I have mine in .40 and I love it.uploadfromtaptalk1397959924696.jpg

The trigger is an improvement compared to the grainy feel of the previous. Good enough for it not to have a trigger job imho. Bought one for the wife's SHTF. Great price for a great gun. I was about to get a XDS9 but with SSE fee, Shield 9 was a no brainer. Congrats to the OP on his new toy.

have not fired it yet, dry fired it with snapcaps and it definitely is stiffer than the full size, my 45 was nice right out of the box, the 9 was gritty but has smoothed out, hope the shield does the same. so far it looks to be very nice quality

^^^ Or tractiongrips.com for less than half the price of the talon grips.

Nice pics and nice pickup to the OP, but damn that LCI really kills it.

Some people complained that the 'Caution' writing along the side of the slide was an eye sore. IMO, that writing is way more subtle looking than the fugly bright red protruding LCI on the CA Shield.

Congrats on your purchase. My wife and I just took a look at one today. Considering what is on the California Roster it seems to be the right fit for her. Could someone please comment on the felt recoil on the 9mm? I was wondering if it might be a little snappy. My wife weighs 95lbs soaking wet so that is a concern.

"loaded when up"... too many jokes there.
