Difficulty finding a Gunsmith that will work on CZ in LA/SFV.

For some reason most of the gunsmiths I ran across would not so even touch my CZ. I don't even need anything complicated just a simple front and rear sight install. However all of the gunsmiths around Los Angeles seems to not want to "risk it" fearing damage.

What makes a CZ different from other brands that it gives gunsmiths nightmares and restless nights?

I called and left them a message, hopefully they will contact me back. At this point I will probably send it to CGWs and have them put it on. I generally don't like shipping my firearms especially here in California, there is so much that can go wrong.

I guess for now I will just keep looking but I'm pretty certain I will just end up shipping it to CGW.

If you are just looking to install sights, can't you ship just the slide and not the frame/"firearm"?

Yes I can and even that might get damaged, I guess I can insure it but I honestly don't want it damaged in anyway.

Try American Gun Works in Glendale. They replaced the sights on my CZ and charged $50.

Also try Randall (ar15barrels) who is a member here and is in Van Nuys. I think he does that work. Not sure of the price.

Perfect, thank you! $50 is a bit steep but its still better than a scratch or gouge on my gun. I will also try Randall.

I would have to double check with our smiths, but I'm pretty sure Don and Matt can both change sights on a CZ. One or both are usually at OC Firearms on any given day.

That's how I saw it, too. It's probably $20 more than what I wanted to pay but it's good enough. They did a good job and I am happy. That's what matters right?

+1 for ar15barrels. he did the sight change on my P01. I did all my other polishing and CGW replacement part work though.
