When Black Hills brand first cam out it was considered match grade (rifle) ammunition by the magazines. Magazine reviews (for whatever they are worth) showed tests were the BH ammo held better groups than standard ammunition sold by Remington, Federal, and Winchester. I think they started with 308 and 223 rifle ammo. Their ammo was supposedly re-manufactured from pulled unfired military brass. That is probably why they only sold 308 and 223. They used new match grade primers and bullets and who knows what powder. I bought some 308 match ammo to try out of my Springfield National Match M1A, but it was such a POS it didn't matter which ammo I shot. I wasn't able to test whether BH was better than other ammo, but it sure wasn't worse. I don't know about their handgun ammunition, but it should be just as good as any other pistol ammo.
