Thinking about getting the M&P Core ...

I am seriously thinking about getting the M&P Core with 5" barrel ... just want to get feedback from those who happen to have this pistol and the +'s and -'s on this one. How is its trigger and ergonomics?

Just want to use it as a general shooting gun.

    Thanks.

Why not just the pro? Are you planning on mounting a rds?

Yes, I really want to have the option of easily mount a small optics on it.

have you looked into custom options?
I was looking at Lone Wolf Distributors as an alternative:

View our selection of Alpha Wolf and Lone Wolf Slides. We carry a broad inventory of custom Glock and Sig slides to fit your own unique needs and shooting style.

I was looking at them for glocks. purchase either the slide stand alone with the RMR cut and move your internals over OR buy the entire slide with internals and just swap out the slides when you want to try an RDS.

If you purchased a CORE via SSE the costs are about the same I think.

I have an FN FNP-45 Tac and if you haven't tried a pistol with an RDS on it.. it's really nice but not for everyone. I love the RDS though, but consider accessory costs too.. e.g. a holster that will fit your RDS.

LOL. I just replied to your PM then saw this thread. Below is what I said in the PM:

          Hello,

I really like my CORE. It has a better balance than my wife's M&P full size. I like the fact that I can cowitness the sights through the optic (I use the Leupold Deltapoint).

Funny you should ask about the trigger. I am actually in the process of putting the Apex FFS trigger kit in both my CORE and my wife's FS.

Other than the trigger the gun has been great.

I recently bought the 5" Pro model (not Core), and I love this gun! The trigger felt ok when I dry fired it new, but now that is has a few hundred rounds through it, it's really nice. I have had 5 XD/XDM's and a few Glocks and this gun shoots much smoother than anything I've shot before. I still like Glocks and XD's, but this is by dad my favorite handgun.
